Head Coach / Owner

Faron has been operating Triple Crown Sports for 20 seasons.  He and his team have provided skill development and lesson facilitation to over 10,000 young players throughout the Prairie Provinces and most proudly to Indigenous youth and leaders in the Northern Manitoba First Nations and Métis settlements.

The company has grown exponentially and now includes on-site training facilities, clothing and apparel sales and the formation of a curling company that has led to international success. Faron believes that “if you build it they will come” and so far this has proven to be a successful motto.

Dustin spent a year on the Manitoba Youth Team before receiving multiple scholarship offers in the USA. He opted to sign a baseball contract in Toowoomba, Australia where he played two seasons. His career also included a stint with the Sioux City Explorers in the American Association. He now serves as the High Performance Director of BMBA and is involved with various Baseball Manitoba programs.

Dylan spent one year in western Nebraska at Western Nebraska Community College before transferring to play in Jamestown, North Dakota, for the Jamestown College Jimmies of the NCAA. In his time at Jamestown, the team won the GPAC Conference. After returning to Manitoba, Dylan took on the role of assistant coach for the 13U AAA Brandon Marlins, winning a provincial championship. He has coached multiple Triple Crown and Baseball Manitoba programs.

Torey Scott - 15U Coach, Triple Crown Bulldogs Baseball

Torey went to Lethbridge to attend the Prairie Baseball Academy for three years and was part of the Varsity team his final two seasons. In those final two seasons with PBA, they won two Canadian National titles. After college, Torey began his coaching career, coaching the Junior Dawgs travel team, Little League Lethbridge, and AAA Lethbridge. Since coming home to Manitoba, Torey has coached AAA Midwest and Team West at the Manitoba Summer Games.

Aaron Couvier - 18U Coach, Triple Crown Bulldogs Baseball

Aaron attended the University of Winnipeg and played one season as a pitcher on their baseball team. He also was a member of the 2012 Provincial team that competed in the Baseball Canada Cup. Since finishing his playing career, he has coached AAA baseball for Bonivital and Red River at the 13U and 15U levels. He is currently the head coach for the 13U Baseball Manitoba Provincial Team.

Zane attended Minot State and played for the Beavers for three seasons, all of which were spent on the Varsity team pitching both as a starter and out of the bullpen. Since moving back to Manitoba, Zane plays for the Boissevain Centennials and has played in multiple Western Canadian and National Championships. He has coached across multiple levels of minor baseball in his hometown of Virden, Manitoba, as well as led pitching camps for Triple Crown Sports.

Jordan has represented Manitoba on the national stage multiple times. He has won silver with the MB Jr. National Team and bronze with the MB Sr. National Team. He has also won Jr. Western Canadians and was named the MSBL Rookie of the Year with the Brandon Cloverleafs. Jordan began his coaching career with Triple Crown and Baseball Manitoba, involving himself with multiple programs for both organizations. He recently won a silver medal serving as an assistant coach at the MB Summer Games.

Zach spent his last two years of high school at Vauxhall Baseball Academy. During that time he played two seasons with the Team Manitoba Prospects and one season with the Manitoba Youth Team. After high school he accepted a scholarship to play NCAA D1 Baseball at North Dakota State University where he played five seasons mainly as a starting pitcher. During his time there they won a Conference Championship and played in a regional at Oregon State University. Zach also spent a summer playing in the WMBL with the Lethbridge Bulls. Since returning to Manitoba, Zach has helped coach the Pilot Mound Pilots to a Provincial Senior Baseball Championship.

Joel has been a fixture in the Westman softball community for years. He has coached at every level from women’s to men’s teams, house league, and most recently in the AAA Westman Magic program. Joel led the Magic to a pair of provincial championships and was on Faron Asham’s staff for a provincial and Western Canadian gold medal. Recently Joel has instructed at Triple Crown camps and works with local pitchers around Westman.

Braden Pilling - Coach, Triple Crown Bulldogs Softball

Braden is a seasoned coach with a rich background in baseball and softball. He played for the Brandon Cloverleafs and spent nine seasons in the Tempe, Arizona Senior Mens League. After coaching in BMBA for eight years guiding teams from A to AAA, he transitioned to softball, leading the Brandon Heat program to four Gold, one Silver, and two Bronze medals in seven seasons.

Heidi Figol - Coach, Triple Crown Bulldogs Softball

Heidi boasts lifelong softball experience. She played with the AAA Westman Magic program. Upon graduating high school, she played softball at Mayville State University and later coached at Valley City State University. This past year she head coached U11 AA Westman Heat. Her team was able to capture one Gold and one Silver in the season. She is a Softball Brandon board member and was named ULL Developmental Coach of the Year in 2023 and 2024.

Marc grew up in Newfoundland playing softball into his early 20s. In 2017 he began coaching softball and has been involved in the sport every since then. He coached in the Magic program for four years, winning two provincial championships and during which went on to Nationals as Team Manitoba. Marc has been a board member for Westman Softball since 2017 — currently as President. As a Level 2 coach facilitator, we are excited to have him on our staff!

Brennah grew up outside of Neepawa, MB, with her three sisters and parents. They all started playing softball at a young age and it has been a huge part of her life. She played in the Magic Softball program at every level. Following her Magic career she signed at Dakota College in Bottineau, North Dakota where she played catcher and short stop. She now lives in Brandon finishing her Education degree at Brandon University.

Cassie Crerar - Coach, Triple Crown Bulldogs Softball

Cassie started her softball playing career for the Westman Magic winning a Western Canadian gold medal in 2019. She then signed as a pitcher with the D’Youville Saints of the NCAA in Buffalo, New York. She spent two seasons pitching for the Saints before returning to Manitoba where she now coaches pitching for Triple Crown Sports.

Jasmine Horwood - Coach, Triple Crown Bulldogs Softball

Jasmine played at every level of the AAA Westman Magic program, interchanging between boys baseball which included time spent on the Provincial Girls team. In 2018 she won a provincial championship as part of the 13U AAA Marlins. In 2019 she played for the Westman Magic capturing a provincial and Western Canadian gold medal. She was also an all-star outfielder at the Canadian National Softball Championship. She has coached U13 softball as well as various Triple Crown programs.

Ryan Boguski - Pitching Coach, Triple Crown Sports

Ryan spent multiple years on the Manitoba Youth Team before pursuing a scholarship opportunity at Minot State University where he was first team all-conference three seasons. His long list of accolades includes being selected to represent Canada on the Junior National Team in 1994; and member of the 1999 – 2008 HoF Brandon Marlins of the MSBL.

Jessie Henry - Coach, Triple Crown Sports

Jessie has spent six years playing with the Westman Magic program winning four provincial titles along the way. She has also placed 5th in Canadian Nationals as well as 1st in Westerns. She received top player in 2023 and most deserving in 2021. Jessie also spends her summers/falls playing travel ball with the South Dakota Renegades in the USA. She has won two showcase tournaments and competed in two USA National Championships. She was an addition to Team Manitoba in 2022. Jessie will be continuing her academic and softball career at post-secondary school.

Eric Truscott - Pitching Coach, Triple Crown Sports

Eric spent two years on the Manitoba Youth Team as a starting pitcher before accepting a scholarship to pitch at the University of Jamestown. His long list of accolades includes: three-time MHSAA Champion; game-winning pitcher in the bronze medal game at the Canada Cup; and a bronze medal at the NAIG in Colorado.

Aaron has been involved with Triple Crown in a variety of different ways since its inception over 20 years ago. He has a passion for sport that was bred into him, with baseball being the sport that he is most passionate about. He currently serves as the Director of Operations, and assists with the day to day operations of the facility, the Bulldog Winter Program, and manages our sister company Dynasty Sports and Apparel. Feel free to reach out to him for bookings, team equipment and uniform sales and everything in between.

ACCOLADES:

  • 2 time MSBL Champion and 4 time provincial champion and as a player.
  • Won a National Bronze Medal, and a Canada Games Silver Medal as an administrator.
  • Served four different terms on the Baseball Manitoba Executive and the Vice President of Finance and the Vice President of Marketing.
  • Was inducted along with his parents and siblings as a family into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame in 2024.
